Born and bred in Edinburgh, a busy and hectic childhood, there I was. I landed my first role at the age of 13 by walking into the wrong school hall, and was cast as Peasblossom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. From that moment on I spun in magic and decided I would pursue a career within this wonderful and illusive industry. From then on I studied drama and took part in every production offered. My participation ranged from performing on stage, to choreographing musicals, to leading workshops. After my schooling I went on to Northumbria University in Newcastle to complete my BA Honours in Performance. The most compact and diverse three years I have gone through yet; covering dance, physical theatre, acting for television, comedy, acting for film, acting for radio, musical theatre, singing, vocal coaching and opera. It was there that my comedic instincts were honed and flourished. After I graduated in 2005, I auditioned for Queen Margaret University College in Edinburgh for Advanced Stage and Screen Practice. I joined this company-based Masters degree as an actor and have successfully left as one, one who is far more informed! After a play at the Traverse and The Arches, a short film, a documentary and a steep learning curve later, here I am now. |
